METSÄ OMA is my bachelor’s thesis for my university.
It has also been awarded for “The Best Thesis in Photography in Academic Year 2015-2016 of ROME UNIVERSITY OF FINE ARTS”
The title is in Finnish and it means “something what belongs to forest”. This work is based on my childhood memories but mostly on my fears. For me it was very important that I concentrated to ask from myself that what did I remember and how did I felt in those moments? I didn’t want to ask anything from my family members ‘cause it was more important for me how I remember how I felt than how it maybe really happened. So as you can tell this project is very personal to me.
”METSÄN OMA” has also a written part in Italian and the final work is another book which is handmade and includes photographs and frases in Finnish from my memories.
